In the beginning of 1917 the Greek soldiers wore straight trousers. According to the French M1914 pantalon-culotte style, the short breeches were made of woolen cloth. Followed the pattern of the era the breeches buckled under the diaphragm having length just below the knees, two vertical slash side pockets and they were worn with braces; in various shades of khaki. Reinforcement patches provided for the harsh conditions of the trench warfare.
