The forage cap owes its origin to a French project. The French Army in its regulation introduced the cap in 1890 as a headdress for the fatigue dress. In  Greece it came during the  period of the 1st  WW when most of the weapons and supplies were of French origin. From then, until World War II, was changed various forms keeping key features. The Regulation of 1938 introduced an improvement concerning the folding part of the cap which protects the ears.
