Georges Marie Ludovic Jules Guynemer was born in France on December 24, 1894 in the town of Compiegne in a rich and prestigious family. On his mother's side, was directly descendant of the kings of France, Louis XIII and Louis XIV. Despite the weak childhood he became aviator thanks to great will and confidence. At the end of 1914 he rejected for military service, but will be accepted for training as engineer. With determination, persistence and struggle will be able to train as a pilot and join the Squadron MS.3 on June 8, 1915 remained there for the entire curs of his duty.  On 5 December 1915, the squadron was renamed Squadron MS.3 N.3, and equipped with new fighter Nieuport 10. In February 1916 with his fifth victory became ace and established as one of the best fighter pilots in France. Elevated to the grade of Lieutenant a month later and increased his rate up to 25 shoots down, to the end of the year. In less than a year Guynemer was promoted to Captain assuming the command of the Storks squadron. His technical expertise and his experience will influence the design of the French fighter aircraft when in December 1916 (after a letter to the chief designer of the company SPAD SPAD VII criticized as inferior to the German Halberstadt). After that , they appears two new but very similar models, the SPAD XII and SPAD XIII. On 8 February 1917, with a SPAD VII, Guynemer will become the first allied pilot that he shoot down a German heavy bomber Gotha G.III.May, will be the month of successes when he beaten seven German aircrafts. In July after his proposal, one SPAD XII is armed with a 37mm cannon whose barrel passing through the propeller shaft and a machine gun 7,62 mm. Although the cannon promised devastating firepower, the plane was over the limits. After each shot, the gun had to be cock by hand and the recoil tiring the fuselage, filling the pilot position with the detonation suffocating gases. Despite the difficulty of handling the SPAD XII, Guynemer will defy an Albatros on July 27, and a DFW the next day making him the first French pilots who reached the 50 shoots down. On September 11, 1917 in his 22 years, will take off with a SPAD XIII on patrol in Langemark. At 09:25, near the Belgian town Poelkapelle, Guynemer will detect a solitary German Rumpler (observation airplane), which will hunt but he fell in a trap of few Fokkers. According to the testimony of the trainee pilot flying along with the other aircraft, Guynemer will not make it.

The funeral will take place a few days later by the Germans who will deliver to his body the greatest military honors. Due to the nature and his history, Guynemer will become the darling of the French people (the General Staff and the press was looking for a person like Guynemer as a counterweight to the thousands of the deads in the trenches). The French will honor him with the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour, with the Medal of Military Honour and the Cross of War.
