 The Hellenic Expeditionary Force in Korea ΕΚ.Σ.Ε.1950-1955), was the first Greek allied mission in the United Nations. The Greek Expeditionary Corps forces included one battalion consisted of 1,000 soldiers and 7 aircraft C-47 Dakota with 67 airmen. On December 9, 1950 the Greek battalion disembarked at the port of Pusan ​​in South Korea and joined the 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment. From 18 December 1950 until 19 December 1953, the Greek battalion conducted significant defensive and offensive operations, integrated with general allied projects. Many conflicts, in which he participated, were particularly cruel and bloody beneath peculiar climatic conditions and toward overwhelmed enemy forces. From autumn 1953 the ΕΚ.Σ.Ε. gain part of the 3rd U.S. Division and moved to defensive Tsorvon location.
